Naghol, or land diving, is one of Vanuatu’s most famous traditional ceremonies, held on Pentecost Island. Men climb tall wooden towers and dive headfirst with only vines tied to their ankles, in a ritual linked to harvest and community strength. While not on Santo, many visitors choose to witness Naghol as part of a longer Vanuatu trip, then relax on Espiritu Santo afterwards.

The Santo Rodeo is a lively local event that brings together riders, families and spectators for a day of action and entertainment. Fest’Napuan is one of Vanuatu’s best known music festivals, drawing local and international artists to Port Vila for several days of live performances. Many visitors combine time in Vila for the festival with a relaxing stay on Santo before or after the event.

The Yasur Volcano Run is a unique running event that takes place on Tanna, home to the famous Mount Yasur volcano.
